Cavallo

Newport Beach to Tuscany. One table away.

Experience Cavallo

Cavallo — the experience

The Cavallo menu page — antipasti and hand-made pasta set in editorial serif type on an ivory ground.
Menu — set like a page, not a PDF.
The Cavallo wine list — champagne and by-the-glass sections in white type on a deep oxblood ground.
Wine — a cellar list with a point of view.
The Cavallo Our Story page — a large serif pull-quote above long-form editorial text.
Our Story — long-form, unhurried.
The Cavallo reservation form on a dark ground — date, time, party size and seating fields.
Reservations — a full booking flow, concept-only.
The Cavallo cinematic homepage on a phone — the headline over the hero film.
The homepage, on a phone.
The Cavallo menu on a phone — a single editorial column.
Menu, one column.

The brief

Design an Italian steakhouse that reads as a real Newport Beach destination — not a template with a wine list dropped into it.

It had to carry a point of view before a single dish was named: coastal, tailored, and serious about beef.

  • Lake Como
  • Newport Beach
  • Italian tailoring
  • a serious American steakhouse

The idea

Newport Beach to Tuscany. One table away.

One line organised everything that followed: you can get to Tuscany without leaving the coast.

The room you see first, the pace of the scroll, the length of the film, the words on the menu — all of it answers to that sentence.

The film

We didn't shoot it. We built it — selecting the footage, cutting the sequence, retiming and grading every shot to one candlelit register, and engineering the loop so it never resets on screen.

Then it was wired into the experience as the first thing you feel, not a banner you scroll past.

The cut moves through

We weren't designing restaurant screens. We were building the feeling of wanting to be there tonight.

A thick steak flaring over a live-fire grill.
Scene 02 — the fire.
A warm-lit wine-cellar corridor lined with racked bottles.
Scene 04 — the cellar.

The experience

The concept doesn't stop at the film. It runs through every page of the product.

  • Editorial typography that sets a steak list like a page of a book.
  • Cinematic scene transitions that carry the film's pace into the scroll.
  • A reservation-first flow — the table is never more than one action away.
  • Atmosphere that never gets in the way of getting something done.

The system

Seven disciplines, one job: decide how Cavallo looks and feels the moment someone meets it.

Creative direction set the register. Brand and copy gave it a voice. The edit gave it a pulse. Design, UI/UX and development made it something people can use.

We create how a business looks and feels to the world.
